Art, Mental Health and Well Being - Shout About You!

Art and creativity plays an essential role in supporting children’s mental health and well-being and offers children a safe and enjoyable way to explore their emotions and express themselves.

Artistic expression also helps reduce stress and anxiety, providing a sense of calm and focus in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Creativity helps children to better understand themselves and the world around them, laying a strong foundation for lifelong emotional well-being.

This workshop is inspired by street art and public artists who use text as a powerful tool to communicate messages through their work.

Children will explore how words and visuals combine to express ideas, spark conversation, and make an impact in public spaces. All of this improves oracy skills.

Children will design and make expressive posters that reflect their personal identity and encourage individual self-expression.

  • Supports the development of pupils’ confidence in using art to communicate their ideas, feelings, and unique perspectives, enhancing their oracy skills.

  • Outcomes will be bold, colourful, and energetic posters that celebrate creativity and voice.

  • Pupils will explore artistic techniques, including collage and printmaking, developing their control of materials and understanding of composition
